Cooking Up Some Vocal Jazz: Appetizers to a Full Course MealA how-to guide to creating your own vocal jazz program

Welcome to the wikisite designed for educators wishing to implement techniques and approaches in the jazz tradition to their vocal curriculum. This is a companion interactive site organized by Elizabeth Good, head of choral activities at Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnstown, PA, and Nathan Santos, faculty member of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Music Department and Saint Francis University, Loretto, PA to their collaborative presentation at Pennsylvania Music Educators Association 2011 Annual In-Service Conference in Hershey, PA.

The aim of this site is to be an aggregate resource containing information on easy warm-ups, history of jazz vocal groups, arranging techniques, educators' resources, and other classroom techniques that can help alleviate any intimidation that a director may have when interested in integrating jazz styles into their program with little to no previous experience.
